サーバーダウンなど、皆様に多大なご迷惑をおかけしながらも

最近めっきりブログを書いていませんでした。
申し訳ありませんでした。

なぜかというと！

こんなものを作っていました。

SLUP!ですよ！SLUP!
SecondLifeとUP!をくっつけただけなんです。
ひねりも何も無くて申し訳ないです。
で、SLUP!って何？という話だと思うのですが、
「SLUP!　セカンドライフを「キャンプ生活」から解放！無料テクスチャーアップロードサービス」

ええ。私、仕事でセカンドライフに関わっていたにも関わらず、一個人でセカンドライフに入るキャラクターはクレジットカードを登録しておりません。一般の感覚を忘れてはいけないと、お金なども一切渡さず、会社の人も知らないアバターで遊んでおります。

ですので、テクスチャーをアップロードするのにキャンプを行っていたわけです。
さくさくオブジェクトを作りたいのにキャンプ。
英語が喋れないのにキャンプ。
寝落ちしてキャンプ。

絶望に打ちひしがれ私は思ったのです。
「このスーパーカーは、木目のテクスチャーで終わるのか。。」
「このスーパーカータイヤ、、、どう見ても木じゃないか。」

本日セカンドライフのアカウント数が1000万を越えました。

伸びが鈍化しているというものの、今後が楽しみです。

イギリスの学生Katharine Berryさんがブラウザを利用しsecondlife内でIMやchatなどが出来るAjaxを開発したそうです。
海外には優秀なエンジニアが多いですねぇ。

私も携帯用を開発します。笑

みずほコーポレート銀行は24日、同行の産業調査部によるレポートとして『「セカンドライフ」にみる仮想世界・仮想経済の可能性』と題する分析資料を発表した。

　同資料では、「セカンドライフ」をワールドワイドウェブ（WWW）に続く新たな3Dベース・社会シミュレーションサービスとして捉えている。また、2008年末には「セカンドライフ」人口が2億5,000万人に迫り、仮想通貨「リンデンドル」の年間マーケットは1.25兆円に達するだろうという予測も示している。

●「セカンドライフ」への問題提起

　「セカンドライフ」では著作権をユーザー側が持つことが許されているため、クリエイターの作品発表・発売の場として活用されている。しかし、既存のキャラクターを模倣したコンテンツの取り扱いについては、リアル世界の原著作権侵害として許さないのか、それともCGMの一種として一定の範囲で認めていくのかは判断の分かれるところだ。また、暴力表現、カジノ施設等に対する扱い方もかなりの裁量がユーザー側に委ねられており、今後はさまざまな問題提起が行われていくだろう。

●期待される「オープン化」

　利用者が増加するに従い、経済活動も含めた全てのコントロールが「セカンドライフ」運営会社であるリンデン・ラボ社が1社で握っていることもリスク要因として考えられるようになってきた。すでにビューワソフトのオープンソース化を発表しているとはいえ、24日にリリースされた新たな3Dオブジェクト記述手法「スカルプテッド・プリム」などを含む主要機能のほとんどは引き続きリンデン・ラボ社が提供していくだろう。

「セカンドライフ」が本当に次世代3Dプラットフォームとして受け入れられていくためには、さらなるオープン化が求められるだろう。ゲーム・エンターテインメント産業では一定の地位を得ている日本のクリエイターや企業が、オープン化の進む「セカンドライフ」をどのように活用していくのか、今後も注目される。

セカンドライフに本日スカルプティッドプリムが導入されました。
いままでは、積み木のようにしか作れなかった３Dオブジェクトですが、今後はさらに複雑に作ることが出来るようになります。

そこで今回はフリーでSculpted Primをつくるソフトを紹介しようと思います。

これらの施設には、担当者に直接メールを飛ばす機能が組み込まれていたり、説明WEBページに飛ばすなどの工夫以外特筆すべき点はない。

しかし、どのブースにも打ち合わせ用のテーブルが沢山あり、インタビューの様子を伺うことが出来た。
このような取り組みに興味があるのか出展企業以外の有名企業の姿を見ることも出来た。
mixi社をはじめ、日本企業でもこのようなセカンドライフ内での面接などの取り組みは既に行われている。

各社ともアーリーアダプターの採用という点に加え、世界中から人材を募集できると言うメリットを感じているのだろうか。
デメリットが無いわけではないが、このような取り組みは今後増えるのではないかと思う。

今日フジテレビでとくダネについてふれられていました。

朝の番組で見られた方も多いかと思います。
その中のお話でオーストラリアではSecond Lifeでの所得に課税されることが決定されたようです。

リアルとバーチャルの融合は着々とすすんでいるようです。

仮想世界Second Life内でこのほど発覚した「児童ポルノ」問題について、開発・運営者であるLinden Labは5月9日、断固とした処置を取るとの見解を明らかにした。

　ことの発端は、ドイツのテレビ局ARDが5月3日、成人男性の姿をしたアバターと、児童の姿をしたアバターが、性的行為に及んでいる画像をとらえたことから始まった。ARDがLinden Labに通知し、同社が調査にあたったところ、アバターを使っていたのは54歳の男性と27歳の女性だったと判明。両者は即座にSecond Lifeの利用を禁じられた。

　さらにARDは5月4日に、Second Life内で児童のわいせつ写真を発見したと報道。発見した写真を弁護士に提出したという。ただし写真の詳細や写真を発見した場所などについての情報はLinden Lab側には通知されておらず、詳細は不明のままだという。

　Linden Labは一連の児童ポルノ問題について断固とした態度で臨み、かかわったユーザーに対して永久にSecond Lifeの利用を禁じるとともに、法的機関に通告するという方針を明確にした。またSecond Lifeは現在でも未成年の利用を禁じているが、今後はパスポートや社会保障番号などによる、電子的な年齢確認システムを導入する予定であることを明らかにした。

米ホテルグループのスターウッドが展開するアロフトホテルがセカンドライフに再上陸する模様。

Virtual Aloft
セカンドライフ上に実物のホテルを作成し、その過程もブログで配信し、ユーザーの声を建築に反映させるなどするなど、ユニークな取り組みをしていた。
しかし2006年末、事実上閉鎖され、その後立ち入り禁止が続いていたが、ユーザーからの問い合わせが相次ぎ2007/5/8に再オープンすることになった。

アロフトホテルのセカンドライフに対する投資回収率は他の方法に比べてどれほどのものなのか気になるところである。

恐らく今のところ他の方法では難しいのではないだろうか。

顧客とのミーティングをセカンドライフ上で行ったり、Circuit Cityを彼らの土地に誘致し、積極的にセカンドライフを活用している。

何なんだこれは？ということで、調べてみました。
これらのプリムの正体はsculpted primと呼ばれるものです。

A:"sculpted prim"とはテクスチャー（sculpt texture）により形作られたプリムです。"Sculpted prims"は複雑な形を作ることが出来ます。 それらは現在のセカンドライフの標準プリム作成機能で作成することは不可能です。

※どうもX,Y,Zの位置情報を、テクスチャーのR,G,B情報としてもっているようです。

Q: どうやってsculpt texture つくるの！？
A:簡単な方法は3D作成ソフトを使う方法です。我々はMaya,3ds Max, Blender, ZBrushにもうすぐ対応します。我々もまた、セカンドライフビューアーにsculpt editorを組み込む予定です。

セカンドライフ上でスタートレックが撮影されたのは、既に多くの方がご存知かと思います

そんなマシネマ（マシーンシネマ）をセカンドライフ上で効率よく作る"Joystick Flycam"が将来導入されるようです。

このツールはRunitai Linden氏により作られました。今後マシネマがどんどん増えてくるのではないでしょうか？
弊社も、将来PVなどをセカンドライフ内で取ってみたいものです。

また、多くのユーザーによりこのような機能が追加されるのではないでしょうか？
現在クライアントはオープンソースですし私も触ってみます。
